The Old Cemetery of Nida
Near the evangelical-lutheran Church is Nida ethnographic cemetery of XIX-XX c. In the old Nida cemetery visitors can see the very archaic wooden grave markers called krikstai. They were restored by the artist E. Jonusas. Nida's Old Cemetery is under protection and the rest place of people like the local hotelier Herman Blode and the Curonian preacher K. H. Mertikaitis.
Parnidis dune
Nida is home to some of the highest sand dunes in Europe. The most famous of them is probably the 52 m high Parnidis dune (Parndzio kopa). From the Dune of Parnidis you can enjoy the variety of the spit’s landscape: Baltic Sea, Curonian lagoon, center of Nida ... A sundial is located on top of the Parnidis Dune. It was build in 1995 by the architect R. Kristapavicius, sculptor K. Pudymas and astronomer R. Klimka. The original sundial finger was 12 m high and weighted about 200 tons. Unfortunately it was broken by the hurricane "Anatoly" on the 4th December 1999.
The Valley of Death
The Valley of Death is situated between the Dune of Parnidis and the Dune of Gliders. During 1870 – 1872, there was a camp of the French war captives established. Due to poor imprisonment conditions, exhaustion, and diseases a lot of the captives had died. They were buried at the camp cemetery set right here; that is why the valley has such a name.
Lighthouse
It is one of the largest and one of the most significant lighthouses on the seacoast of Lithuania.
